Port Jefferson School District Hosts Successful Superintendent’s Conference Day EdCamp

Posted Date: 04/15/26 (03:11 PM)

The Port Jefferson School District proudly hosted its annual Superintendent’s Conference Day EdCamp, continuing a tradition of meaningful professional learning and collaboration among educators and staff. Building on the success of previous years, this year’s EdCamp once again provided a dynamic and engaging experience for all participants.

EdCamp sessions are designed as collaborative, participant-driven conversations where colleagues come together to share ideas, explore topics relevant to their professional roles, and learn from one another in a supportive and inclusive environment. This innovative format encourages open dialogue, fosters creativity, and empowers educators to take an active role in their professional growth.

Many teachers and staff members volunteered to facilitate sessions, demonstrating the district’s strong culture of leadership and shared expertise. Facilitators guided discussions, shared practical strategies, and, in many cases, learned alongside their peers. Session topics reflected the diverse interests and needs of the school community, ranging from incorporating tools like Canva into classroom instruction to critical safety skills such as how to respond to and stop bleeding in emergencies.

The Port Jefferson School District remains dedicated to providing high-quality professional development opportunities that support innovation, collaboration, and excellence in education.
