Earl L. Vandermeulen High School again took part in the Port Jefferson Fire Department’s annual 9/11 memorial service. Student-musician Nicholas Smirnov, a violinist, gave a moving performance with his renditions of “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America.” It was a fitting tribute to honor those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
