COVID case - Elementary School; Sept. 21

The District was notified of a positive staff COVID-19 case in our Elementary School. We have been in contact with the Department of Health and have begun contact tracing procedures. Students or other individuals that were in contact with this staff member will receive a separate correspondence and will be subject to quarantine from the Department of Health. The investigation is ongoing so please be mindful of your interactions. Wear a mask, social distance and practice proper hygiene. We will provide you with updates as they become available.

COVID case - Middle School; Sept. 18 

After dismissal, the District was notified of a positive student COVID-19 case in our Middle School.  We have been in contact with the Department of Health and have begun contact tracing procedures. Students or staff members that were in contact with this student will receive a separate correspondence and a possible quarantine from the Department of Health.  The investigation is ongoing so please be mindful of your interactions this weekend . Wear a mask, social distance and practice proper hygiene.  When the Department of Health gives us a determination we will provide you with an update.  


COVID-19 Case at Elementary School - Sept. 16

This morning the Port Jefferson School District was notified that a student at the elementary school tested positive for COVID-19. Following our procedures and protocols and guidance from the Department of Health, the elementary school is closed today for distance learning.  We will be disinfecting the building and working to conduct contact tracing.  Thank you for your patience and understanding, we will update you as we learn more information.
