Edna Louise Spear Elementary School

Clubs & Groups

Chess/Scrabble Club

Chess & Scrabble Club meets on Wednesdays from 3:40 - 4:30  p.m.  Come engage your mind in the art of strategic thinking!  Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are welcome to join us as we hone our skills in these two challenging activities.

Garden Club

Open to students in grades 3, 4, and 5, Garden Club is a chance for all of our students who have a green thumb (or even those who wish they did!) to come and enjoy the feeling of satisfaction that comes from planting, growing, and harvesting their own plants.  Students sell what they grow in order to raise money for future crops.  Please note that this is a seasonal club; more information will be provided as details become available.

Homework Club
Open to 3rd, 4th and 5th grades

Homework Club is intended to give children in grades 3-5 a quiet place to complete their homework.  The goal of Homework Club is to have the children complete their assignments as independently as possible; however, children do have the opportunity to seek teacher assistance when needed.  Children must come prepared with the appropriate materials to complete their work (paper, pencils, books).  The Homework Club meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:40 - 4:30 p.m.

Open to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade

Intramurals is an after school activity for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.  The participants play a variety of team games. These activities are played indoors or outdoors depending on the weather.
Third grade intramurals on Wednesdays from 3:40 - 4:30 p.m.
Fourth grade intramurals is held on Tuesday after school.
Fifth grade intramurals is held on Thursday after school.

Student Government

Third, fourth, and fifth grade students are elected by their peers to represent students' interests in our Student Government club.  The class representatives meet with faculty advisors on Mondays 8:10 - 8:50 a.m

Yearbook Club

This club is open to our fifth grade students who enjoy photography and design layout.  Students meet according to a schedule (to be determined) with their advisor and work together to create an artifact of their last year of elementary school.
