As a freshman at Earl L. Vandermeulen High School, Jameson Roeber has a busy academic schedule in addition to playing baritone in the school band and being on the wrestling team. It’s his outside-of-school activities that help keep him grounded and connected to others. Jameson, who paddleboards near his home in Port Jefferson, was the youngest New York resident to win a SUP Connect GROM of the Year award for his paddleboard skills and ability to help others. He is back in the running (or paddling) for the 2023 GROM of the Year, which is given based on criteria such as ambassadorship, involvement, performance and support. Jameson most recently won first place in his division in a six-mile race in Fairfield, Connecticut, and a 2.5-mile race in Riverhead. Good luck, Jameson!
